What Your Appearance Says

What Your Appearance Says:

One’s facial formations and body gestures are very telltale.

Eyes:

How much people open or close their eyes while talking to you is an indication of how much they are revealing of what is on their mind. Wide open eyes tell everything, those with extremely wide open eyes demand expression and cannot keep anything back. They have difficulty holding any secret. When someone closes his or her eyes while talking to you, so that only a narrow slit is open, that person is guarding every word in and you are getting very little actual information.

One with prominent eyes loves to talk. One who possesses very prominent eyes, ’bug eyes’, is a regular chatterbox and has great difficulty getting to the point. This person has no difficulty striking up a conversation and goes on and on. A positive point concerning one with prominent eyes, is that they understandably do well in the fields dealing with voice occupations, such as lecturing, singing, etc. Many television and radio personalities are filled with prominent eyed personalities. Studies show that during a conversation, should the pupils become enlarged, sexual interest is indicated. Lines that appear at the corner of the eyes are called lines of mirth. They almost always appear in a laughing face.

Shape Of Face:

Oval:

A woman possessing an oval shaped face usually possesses great natural beauty. A man having been endowed so, portrays artistic sensitivity. Whether male or female, a natural grace, charm and easy smile are usually present.

Round:

You reflect manners and a sense of proportion, usually being quite benevolent.

Square:

Having the face of an athlete, you show strength and pride. Though often not the most intellectual person, you have the energy that others are willing to follow.

Triangular:

The face being wide at the forehead and gradually diminishing in width to the chin, has been found in people known to excel in spatial perspectives, construction and real estate.

Hands:

The hands as every organ performs every motion by direct order from the brain. Whether this be waving, clutching, holding, picking something up, pointing or whatever. That link between the brain and the hands is responsible for the way the hands react unconsciously to the mental states. The thumb is the digit that reflects willpower, and its shape tells us of the degree of will and the way in which that will is expressed. When one’s willpower is dominated by another, the thumb is often automatically held inside the fingers. When we see a person with the thumb hidden by the fingers, that person is not in complete control of his or her will at that particular point of time, but is being controlled on the whole, either in the external world or in themselves. This does not mean that the person has no control at all, but it means that self control is extremely difficult.

The hand gestures offer plenty of tip-offs as to the inner states. Open arms are and always have been the expression of welcoming, warmth, love and acceptance. People who keep their hands in their pockets, unless they are trying to keep them warm, are hiding something. Watch their eyes. Half closed eyes and hands in the pockets indicate that motives and statements are half hidden. Subjects that keep their hands behind their back are being cautious, they don’t want to fall into any traps. It shows hidden motives, repulsion, avoidance. Fidgety hands, hands that finger this and that and can’t be still, usually indicate a person lacking direction, but full of energy, even if it is only nervous energy. If we give such persons something to do, some direction, they may be off immediately and put their nervous hands to some task. Once a decision has been made, once the mind is made up and the time for action has arrived, the hands take on a different appearance. The fist is clenched. The clenched fist shows determination; the moment of action has come. When you are talking to people watch their hands. If their hands are open their mind is open and your ideas are being accepted, the sale can be made. If the arms are crossed over the chest and the hands are folded, it shows that a barrier is up. Nothing is being revealed, your words are bouncing off a dense, closed mind.

The handshake is the tip-off as to the amount of energy your subject possesses. A firm handshake with a good grip shows abundant vitality and energy. The subject is a hard worker with a vigorous constitution. Hands that are too hard with an iron grip, denote a rigid mind and an excess of vitality. Those persons will work from dawn till dusk and have energy to spare, but the mind directing the energy is as rigid as the hands. It is practically impossible to change their minds. The only way you could get them to agree with you is to make it seem to be their idea. Hard handed - hard headed.

The elastic, resilient, springy and warm handshake is the best. The mind is alert, progressive and intelligent. The warmth of the hand points to a warm personality and good blood supply. Cold hands point to poor circulation and frequently a cold personality. The statement that cold hands mean a warm heart is not true. The soft flabby handshake belongs to the lazy daydreamer. They may do some mental work, but physical work is avoided if possible. Soft hands often denote idealism and are found frequently on musicians. The flabby hand points to an unreliable and lethargic nature.

The handshake in which only the tips of the fingers are offered in a brief touch, belongs to a person who does not really want to know you. He may feel superior and beyond your station in life. This is a condescending handshake, looking for dominance in that particular relationship. If the other person has moved away from your squeezing his hand, this shows that you can outlast and outnegotiate him and of course vice versa. When shaking hands, if a man is actually tickling the palm of the woman, this is actually a sexual encounter, telling the lady of his inclination towards her. Although to many this is seen as being obnoxious, he definitely gets right to the point and awaits her response.

Although your handshake may be firm, if you simultaneously move away from your associate you show suspicion. You are not the one who is easily lead. Moist palms usually reflect the nervous wreck. If you shake someone’s hand with your two hands, this can reflect two different understandings: if you know that person then it shows that you are actually glad to meet him. You can easily kiss and hug him as well. Although some people may complain that you come on a bit too strong, not being accustomed to your openness, they themselves often forget their own reserve and respond to your warmth.

When you do not know the other person whose hand you are shaking with both of yours, this almost always makes that other person feel extremely uncomfortable, sensing insincerity. Nevertheless, many politicians use this especially when running for election. If in a given situation, you should be shaking your fellows hand and you don’t, should your counterpart be of the same sex as you, this can reflect a fear of latent homosexual desires. Not shaking the hand of someone of the opposite sex may reflect your fear of sex or sexuality. In contrast to a firm handshake, if your handshake is extremely overpowering, this shows aggressiveness and possible sadism. Where pain is inflicted, this obviously shows a cruel streak. In contrast to the soft flabby handshake, should your handshake actually be limp, this reflects very little care about the person whose hand you are shaking. Many psychologists suggest that this is actually reflecting minimal care about oneself. You are actually viewed as the victim in life, very often depressed and people actually forgetting you, moments after they have been introduced to you.

The Head:

The lined forehead: The depths of the furrows in one’s forehead

reflects the painful experiences and losses that have been experienced. Correspondingly, these lines as well express a strong philosophical bent. The unlined forehead: This shows that whether or not many tragedies have occurred, they have not affected you that deeply. If completely smooth, some immaturity should be expected.

The Jaw And The Chin:

Imagine a line running from the external opening of the ear to the end of the chin.

When this line is long, motivation, strength and endurance for leg activity are present. Dancers usually always have a long chin line. Boxers and football players, although they tend to have full and wide jaws do not necessarily possess a long leg line. The square or jutting jaw shows great strength of character, being aggressive, strong willed and often bull headed. Mussolini was noted for the remarkably varied expressive power of his chin.

When the chin is small and round, protruding very slightly, that in comparison to the total makeup of the face, appears to be receding, it betokens the fearful, timid, weak-willed personality.

The square jaw indicates the decisive individual, one who usually gets his way or is at least trying to. When people sense personal strength, they are more inclined to treat you with dignity and courtesy.

The wide or narrow side head is measured by the distance or width of the head directly above the ears. It is noticeable also when considered as the distance outward from the corner of the eyes to the area above the ears.

This very important contrast of characters will be of extreme benefit in determining the relationship of partners in business, friendship or marriage. People with wide heads are largely carnivorous. They are usually aggressive, positive and forceful. They dominate situations and do not give in easily. They are victors in life and the masters of most situations. They do battle with life’s hardships and problems and rarely give up fighting. People with narrow heads are usually herbivorous by nature. They are more passive, docile, dominated by the wide heads of the world. They are the victims of life, they take defeat without much fight. They are the ones who are mastered in most given situations. When examining marital partners, business partners, friends or even enemies, we know that the widest head will usually dominate. Two wide heads will conflict and battle each other, they often eventually separate. Two narrow heads will blame each other for the lack of progress, lack of initiative, for being too passive or whatever. Wide heads will usually battle sickness and make better recoveries, narrow heads will give in to the sickness. Interestingly, most surgeons and butchers will have wide heads, because they must cut. The wide head denotes strong self preservation instincts. It imparts energy and the executive ability necessary for us to overcome obstacles and remove whatever is contrary to our welfare. It allows us to destroy, defend, endure, inflict pain (as in surgical operation) or kill for survival. Narrow headed subjects are not forceful.

The theory behind why the wide head is the more dominant is directly effected by the type of and frequency of one’s ingestion of food. The association being that the more the carnivorous person eats, the wider the jaw and the wider the head becomes eventually. Whereas, the narrow head has not been as much involved in eating the heavier foods nor as frequently as his counterpart. The forcefulness related to this on the part of the wide head, has apparently created the corresponding size of the upper jaws, that is, the lengths of the side of the head. The aforementioned points have been found to be accurate in over ninety percent of cases, it must also be taken into consideration that heredity and other factors do not allow for all of the aforementioned points to be true at all times.

The Lips:

The bottom red lip reflects the sexual aspects of the emotions. When this lip dominates, the subject will be aggressive sexually, have sexual magnetism and will usually be drawn to the opposite sex.

Lips that are too full, especially with eyes that move slowly under heavy lids, indicate extreme sensuousness and a character exceedingly voluptuous, being excessively emotional. When both lips are full and the mouth is usually held ajar, this indicates an individual that has great difficulty in controlling his or her emotions and appetites.

Thin lips tend to selfishness and are more in control of their emotions. They show sobriety. Very thin lips show people with little feeling of fellowship, overly controlled emotions or actually non-existent. Often selfishness, miserliness, with a

definite dryness of the character. A lipless mouth showing a

straight line betokens the cold, critical and brutal personality.

In criminals, the mouth is frequently twisted, the lips themselves are often found to be excessively full or overly thin and are often in some other way out of bounds. When the mouth droops, it shows disappointment, cynicism and bitterness.

In addition to the emotions, some aspects of the will are revealed by the mouth. One possessing self esteem, firmness, energy, secrecy, resolution and honesty have a tendency to close the lips. Subjects who have the power to compress their lips have the power of self-control to a large degree. Parted lips show one being provocative and filled with passion, open to romantic suggestions and being unusually seductive. A tight lipped individual, along with keeping his secret keeps just about everything else in. His inner tension is so great that release rarely comes even through sexual activity. A slightly upturned mouth shows the eternal optimist and a general ’up’ personality. The drooping mouth, not only displaying pessimism, reflects one who can barely enjoy any success that he may actually achieve.

The Nose:

A large nose is indicative of energy and industry, owing to a large intake of oxygen, which makes for creativity and clear thinking. In sports competition it is advised to inhale as much as possible for additional energy-one endowed with a large nose is naturally taking in more fuel.

The chances of stumbling across high moral values and utopian ideals don’t look promising–what with Flinx playing a lawless Pied Piper to a gang of lying, thieving juvenile delinquents. But prospects really go south when Flinx runs afoul of the corrupt planet’s ruthless crime king. Still, life is full of surprises, and Flinx is about to get smacked by a passel of them–by turns devastating, heartening, and positively jaw-dropping. For although Flinx came to Visaria to plumb the enigma of humankind, there’s another mystery waiting here, a shocking clue about his own shadowy past. From the Hardcover edition.

Quadrupole Magnet

Quadrupole Magnet

$81.25

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Quadrupole magnets consist of groups of four magnets laid out so that in the multipole expansion of the field the dipole terms cancel and where the lowest significant terms in the field equations are quadrupole. Quadrupole magnets are useful as they create a magnetic field whose magnitude grows rapidly with the radial distance from its longitudinal axis. This is used in particle beam focusing. The simplest magnetic quadrupole is two identical bar magnets parallel to each other such that the north pole of one is next to the south of the other and vice versa. Such a configuration would have no dipole moment, and its field will decrease at large distances faster than that of a dipole. A stronger version with very little external field involves using a k=3 halbach cylinder. Author: Surhone, Lambert M./ Timpledon, Miriam T./ Marseken, Susan F.
