I have an older model of this saw, and stole. I read all the negative comments, ordered seen this and love it. I was worried that it would be cheap. No way. It is lightweight and powerful. Adjust the depth has improved and is now working well in the old model as well as the front button has improved in this model. One of my old man said he broke when he fell from the ceiling. I think this was seen for a while and I was surprised by it. I think it will survive a fall from a roof. Like the old model was precise cut and are just as fast. It's nice to see something, if the price is reduced and quality improvement.

Great saw

I owned an older model of this saw and it was stolen. I read all the negative reviews, ordered this saw and I love it. I was worried it was going to be cheap. No way. It's light weight and powerful. The depth adjustment has been improved and now works fine over the old model and also the front knob has been beefed up on this model. The one on my old saw broke when it fell off the roof. I think this saw will last a good long time and I was amazed at it's power. I think it will also survive a few falls off the roof. Just like the old model it has an accurate cut and is just as fast. Nice to see something where the price has been lowered and the quality improved.

Awesome saw

I purchased this saw based on other reviews here at amazon, and I have to say I was not disappointed. It's base is a perfect 5" offset, which makes measuring cuts fast and easy. The saw has a handle that tilts to make cutting at any angle a breeze. Fitting with a Freud Diablo blade, this saw seems to breeze through just about anything I throw at it, the cuts are clean and fast. It has a nice front handle, and the angle guide is labelled clearly and easy to use. The hex wrench for the blade arbor is stored on the saw itself which means you don't loose it. Just for a bonus this comes with it's own box which stores the saw nicely. I really can't stand tools that don't come with a carrying box of some kind. The base plate is very smooth and glides of materials very nicely making this saw a pleasure to use. would definitely recommend and buy again.

Not bad but I haven't found a saw that I can rave about yet.

I thought it was going to be this one but I have yet to find a saw that I actually could give 5 stars to. 

Pros: 
The base was square to the blade out of the box. I returned a saw without even plugging it it because the base was out by 3/16". This one, however, was very close which makes for square speed-square cuts. 
Lots of power. I ripped a 12' 2x10 without the saw lugging. 
You can easily see the cut line from both sides of the blade. 
I like moveable handle, usually it's in its regulay position but occasionally when you don't want to show a lot of blade, it works well. 

Cons: 
I guess you could count this all as one shortcoming. 
Where's the rip guide? I see the spot for it in the box but it is not included for some reason. 
Alright, I sucked it up and bought the Milwaukee rip guide for an extra $11. I inserted it into the slot only to find it doesn't fit without grinding off the high spots on the rail of the guide. 
The connection for the guide is wanky. The set screw comes in at an angle and doesn't securely hold the position.

What a difference a quality tool makes!

This saw was actually one of the first quality power tool purchases I had made a few years back. It was time to step up from the cheap $35-45 saws I had been using, and an article at the time in one of the woodworking magazines cinched the decision for me. You may remember the article; it narrowed the field down to a Porter Cable, Craftsman professional, and this Milwaukee. 

I went to my local Sears that happened to stock all three saws and compared them. First thing was that the Milwaukee came with a case which I was looking for , and once you put the three saws side by side, the Milwaukee just had great features. 

I thought the adjustable handle was going to go unused, until the first time I made an adjustment and realized you can really tailor your hand position to the cut. 

But the thing that has impressed me most is the power of this saw; I can cut through framing lumber and decking material with ease. I have built two decks, several hundred feet of fence plus a major home renovation and would absolutely buy another Milwaukee if the need arose.

Great saw but had higher hopes

My father builds houses and has had his current Milwaukee saw for 15 years. I have always wanted one and was slightly dissapointed when this one arrived. Not built as heavy duty as they used to be and I was shocked to see the MADE IN CHINA wording on the saw's spec sticker. I was hoping I was paying extra versus most saws for USA made but unfortunately I was not. My only gripe is the tilt-lok handle has to be placed to lowest angle setting to fit in the case and the cord is not grounded. Has a nice weight to it and is very easy to get straight cuts out of. Included blade is decent.

Opinion from a non-professional - TWO THUMBS UP!

While not a professional carpenter like many who've already reviewed this excellent pice of equipment I'd like to add my $.02 worth to these reviews. A few months ago I was doing a complete remodel of the kitchen in our rental condo and for the first few weeks my old Skil saw (at least 10 years old and possibly damaged when I used it, with the proper blade, as a concrete saw a couple of years back) was doing just fine. However, when it came time to cut the laminated countertops to length it just wasn't up to the task and it was obvious I'd need a new one. Did a bunch of online research and narrowed my choices down to this Milwaukee model and one from Dewalt. Chose the Milwaukee mostly because of the Tilt-Lok handle and I could not be happier with my choice! It cut through those countertops like the proverbial knife through hot butter and left edges as smooth and clean as if they'd been cut on my Delta Unisaw table saw. This is one outstanding tool that I'd recommend to anyone who's looking for a really good circular saw that will get the job done and probably last them for many, many years and over many, many projects.

Haven't used the saw much yet but was very happy with it when I did. Came with a framing blade, was expecting a combination, but ripped some 2x6 treated and it worked great. Lots of power and good visability. Did not come with rip guide. Carrying case cheesy,awkward to get saw back in.
