Common uses for Boom Trucks

A boom truck is sometimes recognized by the cable and phone business vans that have the elongated arm folded over their roofs. Commonly, a bucket-like equipment sits at the extension of extendable arms. Sometimes referred to as a cherry picker, or an aerial boom truck, a bucket truck has an extendable boom installed on the roof or bed. It is able to transport workers to the peak of a phone or electrical pole. Bucket boom vehicles have a lifting capacity of approximately 350 lbs to 1500 lbs or 158 kg to 680 kg plus they are able of extending the bucket up to 34 feet or just over 10 meters into the air.

Heavy equipment boom trucks or construction boom trucks might have a hoist attached to the rear. These particular type of lifts can be altered in many ways by use of different types of Boom Lift Attachments. When a hoist is attached to the rear we generally refer to these types as knuckle booms.  They may be undersized and compact or be of the trolley boom type, where the hoist is capable of extending the length of the truck bed. Concrete boom vehicles are another adaptation. The booms on these lift trucks have a pipe with a nozzle at the extreme end and are used to pump concrete or other resources. The places where these materials need to be deposited is usually inaccessible to the truck or is located at a considerable height, consequently, the boom of a bigger concrete boom vehicle might be extended 230 feet or approximately 71 meters. The truck then pumps the material through the boom precisely depositing it into the space where it is needed.

Fire departments are outfitted with a lengthy container boom employed to elevate firefighters to the high floors of a structure. Once in place, this boom enables them to direct water onto flames or to rescue ensnared victims. A lot of of the older hook and ladder trucks have been replaced with current boom vehicles.

Self propelled booms are relatively similar to lift trucks. These little boom vehicles can raise staff to elevated storage space or to the ceiling of large warehouses and storage offices. They are more secure and therefore much safer than using extension ladders for the same application.
