A Long Golf Drive Is Possible With The Right Practice

Imagine standing on the first tee and making a 300 yard drive! How good would that feel? A super long golf drive is easily possible if you know what to practice. It took me years before I could do it. Practice the right things and don't make the mistakes I made.

I remember standing on the driving range hitting ball after ball with my driver. Some would get sliced, others shanked. Many of them would be topped and not even get off the ground.

The one thing they all had in common was that none of them would go very far. The more balls I hit, the harder I would try and hit them, the worse things got.

The thing is, when you are at the driving range, you really need to have some self control.

It's better to hit one tray of balls and take your time, go through the correct mental setup and really focus on each shot, instead of hitting six trays in record time.

Consistency and rhythm is the key.

Take your time with each shot. Visualize where the shot is going. Take a couple of practice swings and then hit it as though it really matters.

It's so easy just to hit ball after ball after ball, without concentrating. That is not good use of your practice time.

Just try and make normal drives. Don't even think about trying to make a long golf drive until you get some consistency.

Try and make five good drives in a row. Every time you hit a bad shot, start again from one.

When you can make five good drives consistently, increase the number to ten.

Get your consistency then you can start to achieve a long golf drive.
