Roll Forming Machine Design: We have the latest CAD/CAM computer system together with a software programme especially written to design roll form tooling. After the 'flower pattern' has been developed the CAD/CAM system designs the roll around the appropriate 'pass' and produces machining data for the CNC lathes.
Roll Forming Machine Manufacture
Roll Form Technolgy's use of the most up to date CNC techniques in the production of cold roll tooling, ensures a quality of finish and accuracy far superior to that obtainable from traditional methods of manufacture.
The need to produce costly templates is completely eliminated with manufacturing lead time greatly reduced.
Rolls manufactured in tool steel can, if required, be turned in the hardened condition (60/62 Rockwell scale C), to alleviate problems of distortion from hardening. This is extremely beneficial particularly for 'tight tolerance', painted or coated sections.
All rolls are inspected and polished after manufacture.
Special Purpose Machinery, i.e. Pick and Place Units
Flying Shears
The range of flying shears available is very comprehensive and depends on the particular application.
At Roll Form Technology we have designed our own range of hydraulic shears which are capable of single or double shear production.
A range of length measuring systems can be fitted from a simple 'end stop' through to open or closed loop systems with incremental encoders fitted via a measuring wheel.
The die or press accelerator can be either a pneumatic or hydraulic cylinder or servo drive via rack and pinion to give precise accuracy on cut lengths.
Mechanical undercrank presses can be supplied for flying cut off's or standard presses can be incorporated with the cut off tools flying on rails.
Any combination of mechanical or hydraulic shear can be supplied with special presses designed to customers specification.
Pre-Pierce Press Tools, Jigs and Fixtures
Roll Form Technology manufacture their own pre-pierce hydraulic presses and the necessary press tools to suit. Having our own toolmakers ensures both press and tool is compatible and can be tried out before delivery.
Prototype samples can be produced before finalisation of section design and ancillary jigs, fixtures and inspection checking fixtures can also be designed and manufactured.
Bending fixtures for section is also an area in which we specialise.
Micro-processor control can be incorporated in pre-pierce units to cut down post mill handling and increase efficiency
Stretch Bending
After cut off, we also offer section manipulation tooling.
We also manufacture the end product such as rolled straight and cirlced sections.

Design and Construction of Steel Bridges $231.95 The advantage of steel for long span bridges have been well established for some time. Its advantages for short and medium span bridges are also being seriously looked at now particularly form the standpoint of economy, durability, and ease in maintenance during service life. This book provides the reader with an overall perspective for design and construction of steel bridges, particular from considerations of economy, durability and ease of maintenance during service life. It highlights both theoretical as well as practical aspects which govern the process. Realistic illustrations of practical applications have been used throughout. Starting with a study of the evolution in the design of steel bridges and lessons learnt from some landmark bridge failures, the book discusses basic topics, such as design philosophies, characteristics of steel and loads, before dealing with the various structural arrangements commonly used in modern steel bridges and their selection strategies. Modern systems of connections are discussed at lenght. The book contains several chapters explaining important aspects of fabrication and erection, including methodologies for erection of common steel bridges. Durability, protection against corrosion and post-construction maintenance are discussed in detail. It is expected that the book will provide practical guidelines to students as well as engineers and designers in industry for achieving economy, durability and ease in maintenance. |

Construction Failure $188.99 First published in 1968, Jacob Feld's Construction Failure has long been considered the classic text on the subject. Retaining all of the key components of Feld's comprehensive exploration of the root causes of failure, this Second Edition addresses a multitude of important industry developments to bring this landmark work up to date for a new generation of engineers, architects, and students. In addition to detailed coverage of current design tools, techniques, materials, and construction methods, Construction Failure, Second Edition features an entire chapter on the burgeoning area of construction litigation, including a thorough examination of alternative dispute resolution techniques. Like the original, this edition discusses technical and procedural failures of many different types of structures, but is now supplemented with new case studies to illustrate the dynamics of failure in action today. Jacob Feld knew thirty years ago that in order to learn from our mistakes, we must first acknowledge and understand them. With this revised volume, Kenneth Carper has ensured that Feld's now-posthumous message will continue to be heard for years to come. Jacob Feld's comprehensive work on failure analysis has now been skillfully amended to address current design and construction tools, materials, and practices. Building on the first edition's peerless examination of the causes and lessons of failure, Construction Failure, Second Edition provides you with expanded coverage of: * Technical, procedural, structural, and nonstructural failures * Natural hazards, earthworks, soil and foundation problems, and more * Reinforced, precast and prestressed concrete, steel, timber, masonry, and other materials * Responsibility and litigation concerns, dispute avoidance, and alternative dispute resolution techniques * Construction safety issues * Many different types of structures, including dams and bridges Construction Failure has as much to teach us today as it did thirty years ago. This revised volume is an essential resource for design engineers, architects, construction managers, lawyers, and students in all of these fields. |

Integration of Bim and Rfid in Steel Construction $151.35 The construction industry faces the challenge of synthesizing information and deriving insight from massive, dynamic, ambiguous, and possibly conflicting digital data. Various data models and algorithms have been proposed and implemented to examine data, acquire information, and derive understanding from the information. They usually focus on one or several aspects of the design, procurement, construction, and maintenance phases of a project. Examples of those systems include interactive design systems, decision support systems, and 3D simulations. The focus of the book is to investigate and develop the framework of using Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) and Building Information Modeling (BIM) for the decisionmaking process in steel construction. It has the potential to improve compatibility of the software and database used in projects. The significance of the book is in helping user to select an optimal plan for fabrication, delivery and erection; enabling data stakeholders to detect the expected information and discover the unexpected situations in massive data sets; developing a BIM zoning plan for jobsite safety control; and describing a RFID, GIS, and GPS future system.
