With the use of female 16-pin (2x8) J1962 connector near the steering wheel, repair technicians or mechanics do not need to open a vehicle's hood unlike its progenitor, the OBD-I which was usually located inside or under the hoods of automobiles.
If all repair technicians or mechanics have this type of device, then it would save them effort and time in making a car diagnosis. It is also advantageous in a way because it not only saves time but can also accommodate more customers. Though some repair technicians and mechanics are still not using type of device, probably thinking about how much it will cost them, even though the benefits of using this device is worth it. No more fuss, saves customers' time, and convenient in diagnosing, what more advantages do they need?
