What is Abrasive Blasting

Abrasive blasting is a process of smoothing, cleaning and shaping a hard surface by forcing solid particles across that surface at high speeds. Historically, the material used for artificial blasting was sand, which was filtered to a uniform size for the procedure. This method used for cleaning the surfaces was known as sandblasting.
