When June Hershey and Don Swander wrote this great song about Texas, not only did they include all of the things that make our state Texas, but they really seemed to describe everything that the hill country has to offer.  Could it be that the heart of Texas in which they were singing about was the hill country?
Living in the hill country is one of Texas's best kept secrets. When people think of moving to Texas, they often look in larger cities such as Austin, Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio. But to much surprise, the hill country is closer to these big cities than you might realize which would make living outside the city much more appealing.
