The downside to these treatments is that many women have experienced bad side effects after taking these medications.  Many women have actually seen their symptoms enhanced.  Additionally, some of these medications also contain boric acid.  Boric acid is toxic and has been fatal to some women.  With that in mind, make sure to read the ingredient label of medications before taking them.

Natural Cures

Now that we’ve gone over the potential dark side of medications, let’s get into one of the safest natural cures for yeast infections.  One of the most effective and underrated methods is the use of grapefruit seed extract. It’s available at any health store.   Known for its anti-fungal properties, the easiest way to utilize this method is simply by adding it to water and drinking it.  If you really want to maximize this method, you can place a section of a grapefruit directly into the vagina for about 30-45 minutes. 

While this method works well, it doesn’t kill the yeast spores.  Neither will the store bought medications, for that matter, with all their associated risk of side effects.  To kill the spores you’re going to need a more powerful treatment method.
