The unique process used in milling the logs takes care of any future problems with shrinkage, settling and checking. They are the perfect logs to use when building a round log cabin. When using normal logs, the builder has to allow for settling and the owner needs to engage in ongoing maintenance to allow for adjustments and changes - often up to 10 years.

With laminated logs, the wood is kiln-dried so that the amount of moisture left in the wood is minimized as much as possible. Then pressure is used to laminate the logs into square beams. Through this process, the wood is locked into place making it impossible to move. The beams also have a perfect seal through the tapered tongue and groove feature. These will stay in the same position for a long time. There are also interlocking dovetails for the corners, making the logs in the kits easy to install. These logs are very versatile in that they can be used for basically any log cabin design. You can have beams up to 60 feet in length for a really large home and best of all there are no butt joints. The easy maintenance is another reason why these logs are so popular. They are easy to clean and resistant to insect infestation. With the kit, the windows and doors are precisely fit, making them easy to install. They are also precut, which cuts down on the time required to build the cabin.
