A Professor's Pay? How to Look Up Any Teacher's Salary

Sometimes you get a professor who is a real asshole; some guy who is stuck in the past and refuses to change. If you have ever wanted to know how much your teacher makes, then look no further.

I used to work at this place on my campus called the Wisconsin Innovation Service Center (WISC) and we handled things like new product assessments and market expansion scenarios. One day, a coworker of mine stumbled upon a site in within our University's homepage called Redbook. Within this site, you can go and look up any salaried employ's name and annual pay. Its not limited to teachers either. I am talking about deans, administration heads, counselors; everyone. They even have a search bar. So if you ever have a teacher who you think is getting paid too much, or too little, you are more than welcome to check.

Schools in Other States

This may take a little work on your part because government run offices like these are always hard to deal with. Remember, we didn't even know this was possible until some kid I worked with found it by accident.

Here is the click path he took using our school's website:

1.  uww.edu

2.  Library

3.  Find

4.  Internet Resources

5.  Government

6.  Government Resources: Internet Publications

7.  Scroll down to ‘Budget & Finance'

8.  Finally, click "Most Recent Budget Summaries" and that will take you to the Redbook page I have linked to above.

If I were you I would try and start at my school's website and follow along until you either find what you are looking for or get stuck. If you get stuck, just ask the Librarian online and send them the Redbook link and tell them you are looking for something similar. Insist that the information is public so it ‘has to be out there somewhere.' If you have a good librarian, they will be up to the challenge.

A Few Caveats

In order to look this information up by going directly into the database you have to be using a computer that is connected with your University system network.

How Is This Information Available?

If you go to a public school, their salaries are public information. Anyone, not just University employees have their salary information published. The garbage man, fire and police...anyone who gets paid by state means that you can look up their salary.

WISC-IV Advanced Clinical Interpretation

WISC-IV Advanced Clinical Interpretation

$54.95

For both experienced psychologists and graduate students, this book moves quickly through the essentials of WISC-IV interpretation and onto an insightful analysis of the major cognitive domains assessed by WISC-IV. It is the intention of the editors to raise the standard of practice from a simplistic 'test-label-place' model to a clinical model of assessing to understand and intervene. In the first chapter, the reader is presented with a comprehensive array of societal and home environment factors for which there is empirical evidence indicating their impact on the development of children's cognitive abilities, and ultimately their scores on intelligence tests. Subsequent chapters address issues related to the assessment of cognitive abilities that compose 'g', with special emphasis on the clinical correlates of working memory and processing speed from both neuropsychological and cognitive information processing perspectives. Each new chapter builds on material presented in previous chapters and progresses the reader purposefully through deeper levels of understanding of WISC-IV and cognitive assessment in general. Two chapters explicate the processing approach to interpretation that is the corner stone of the WISC-IV Integrated. A further chapter addresses the interpretation of WISC-IV findings within the context of other instruments as part of a full psychological evaluation. The final chapter provides an extensive case example of how to write psychological evaluation reports from a child-centered rather than a score-centered perspective that can have transforming impact on parents and teachers approach to the child. Overall, these four authors are the architects of a masterful new book on advanced WISC-IV interpretation from a clinical perspective, Together with the complimentary book, WISC-IV Clinical Assessment and Intervention, Second Edition these books provide the complete spectrum of information needed by all psychologists who use the WISC-IV in clinical practice. * The Wechsler scale is the most widely used assessment of children's intelligence * Authored by assessment experts including Harcourt Assessment staff with exclusive data on the WISC-IV * Discusses interpretation of 4 index scores of WISC-IV * Examines the WISC-IV in relation to other frequently used psychological tests * Describes the importance of the WISC-IV integrated in clinical assessment * Predicts scholastic achievement based on WISC-IV subtest scores * Discusses modification of score interpretation based on culture, SES, & other contextual factors

The Validity of the Wasi Predicting Former Wisc-IV Scores for Re-Evaluation Purposes in a Sample of Special Education Students.

The Validity of the Wasi Predicting Former Wisc-IV Scores for Re-Evaluation Purposes in a Sample of Special Education Students.

$82.8

The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the validity of the Wechsler Abbreviated Scale of Intelligence (WASI) in predicting former Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Fourth Edition (WISC-IV) cognitive indices for special education reevaluation purposes. Utilizing archival data, the cognitive scores of 72 special education participants who had been formally evaluated with the WISC-IV battery as well as the WASI were obtained. The majority of the sample was comprised of Hispanic students who held the educational classification of learning disabled. Commensurate with the requirements of the educational reevaluation, the average test-retest interval between the WISC-IV and WASI was 2 years and 11 months. Data was analyzed using matched (paired comparisons) two-tailed t tests and chi-square analyses. Results from this preliminary study support previous research and indicated that IQ's obtained from different instruments are not perfectly exchangeable. Significant differences were obtained between the FSIQ of the WISC-IV and WASI and the correlation coefficient for the FSIQ was moderate (.71). On average, the WASI relative to the WISC-IV resulted in higher FSIQ's (4.66 points). In addition, the VIQ of the WASI was found to be significantly higher (4.48) than the VCI of the WISC-IV and the correlation between the two was moderate (.71). When the data was analyzed on an individual level, using the 95 th confidence interval, 36% of the sample evidenced a significant numerical change (8 absolute points) between the WISC-IV and WASI FSIQ's. Significant IQ classification changes were also found, with the WASI overestimating the FSIQ 43% of the time. In addition, results revealed that 51% of the sample evidenced classification accuracy between the two instruments, 43% of the sample evidenced a one-classification category change, and 6% evidenced a two-classification category change. Possible rationales for the obtained results, implications for psychologists, limitation of this study, and suggestions for future research were presented.
