crossflash a Plextor PX-880SA to a LiteOn

am using Plextor PX-880SA. I am using old firmware on that. I want to upgrade this firmware but i did not find a extra firmware for that. So i want to cross flash with LiteOn. Is it possible? Please suggest. I am in so hurry. Thanks in advance.

I did try the Lite On tab - and yes, it does give the "Success!" prompt. However, when operation the log file while burning - I still notice it reads: Booktype: N/A. On my previous drive it properly read, Booktype: DVD-ROM. So, I'm not exactly persuaded the Lite On tab is working with this drive. Check and reply.

You need to put the Drive ID info in the advanced section of the Lite On tab. undecided if it works though, first and foremost because ImgBurn is using the standard Plextor book typecommand and I wish it would try an option method so that the log file indicate: DVD-ROM as it did at what time I used a Sony (re-budged Samsung) - hence my post here under the suggestion area.

The fact is that the firmware on the Plextor drives is now encrypted so that you can't rip it and place it on a Lite-On. The PX-880SA is base on a Lite-On design hardware. . The new PlexUtilities is attractive good but you can just buy a Lite-On and get the same functionality from the free tools. All the best.
