Interior moulding is a design element that has been used to add interest to interiors for centuries. Skirting and dado rails were originally devised as a way to protect the walls against furniture but now they are more commonly used for decorative reasons as well as other practical reasons. In a practical way skirting can act as a line defence against the vacuum cleaner and on a superficial level dado rails are an effective way of breaking up blocks of colour and wallpaper patterns.

As well as being useful on a design level, interior mouldings can provide protection to walls and entrances but it is important to understand how mouldings can work to your advantage in terms of how your home looks. If used effectively, crown moulding installation can make a feature out of a plain entrance or doorway and can give your home a feeling of elegance or can make it seem more streamlined. Coving or cornicing is ideal for hiding joins and cracks between the ceiling and wall, but on a design level it can also help to make large rooms seem less overwhelming and more intimate.

If you are looking to bring a bit of grandeur and character to your home then consider introducing ceiling roses and domes to your interior. These really do add elegance and class to your home and the best bit is that they needn't cost the earth! You can take it as far as you like, you may want to stick to just one elegant dome or you can go the whole way and make an entire feature out of the ceiling.

When choosing interior mouldings it is important to keep in-line with your home's style and period as well as considering the overall balance of the room. Multi-Material Injection Moulding $144 Injection moulding is the most important of all the commercial methods of plastics processing. Many variations have been developed and one of the rapidly expanding fields is multi-material injection moulding. This is particularly important where processors are looking to gain technological advantages over rivals by adding value to products. Whilst tooling costs can be very high, cost savings can be made by eliminating assembly steps. This review looks at the many techniques being used, from the terminology to case studies. There are many issues involved in moulding different types of materials together. Advantages are gained in the product by combining different properties. Recyclate can be used as a core material with virgin resin skin. However, there are potential problems. Compatibility is important for interfacial adhesion. Different materials have varying rheological properties and optimal moulding conditions, which can limit material choice. This is a big area for research as there have been few studies on co-moulding incompatible polymers. The three primary types of multi-material injection moulding examined are: multi-component, multi-shot and over-moulding. Multi-component moulding can be further subdivided. Co-injection moulding involves making sequential injections into the same mould with one material as the core and one as the skin. It is also known as sandwich moulding because the core is fully encapsulated. Bi-injection moulding is the simultaneous injection of different materials through different gates. Interval injection moulding, also known as marbling, is the simultaneous injection of different materials through different gates giving limited mixing. Multi-shot moulding describes any process where distinct material shots are applied to produce the final component. This includes transfer moulding, core back moulding and rotating tool moulding. Over-moulding includes both insert moulding and lost core moulding, the latter produces hollow parts. This review describes the basic types of multi-material injection moulding, the issues surrounding combining different types of polymers and examples of practical uses of this technology.
