Which Properties Make Wire Enamels Useful for High-end Applications?
Wire enamels are the liquid resins that are used to coat wires, usually of copper, to enhance their utility in different applications. The wires coated with rubber are not suitable for some applications that require wire insulation. Rubber can be easily replaced by different varieties of enamels so that the insulation wires become more useful. Here are some applications that make use of enameled wires:
• The transformers use enameled wires to step up or step down the power supplied.
• Enameled wires are used by the motors to convert electrical energy to mechanical energy.
• Mechanical energy is transformed into electrical energy using generators that again make use of enameled wires. Less Space Required
Normal wires with thick rubber coating take up more space when used as coils in the devices like transformers and motors. This ultimately increases the overall size of these devices. However, the enameled wires don't require much space due to thin coating offered by polyester wire enamels and other types of enamels. Mechanical Strength
Enameled wires possess strength to withstand extreme mechanical force during the operations like conversion of one form of energy to another.
