The Chevrolet Cobalt – Compact & Comfortable

The Chevrolet Cobalt is available as a coupe or a sedan and is a compact vehicle with a better standard fuel economy than other cars in its category. The standard engine is a 2.2 liter inline four cylinder version which is connected to a five-speed manual transmission and produces 155HP. It easily achieves at least 30 mpg on the highway and has four trims including the trendy looking sports version Cobalt SS.

The SS version has a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 260HP power connected to a silent five-speed manual transmission. However, all other models have the option of a four-speed automatic.

The Coupe version offers the best standard highway fuel economy of any other compact coupe and can travel up to a whopping 480 miles on a single tank of gas. More power is available from the optional Ecotec 2.0 liter 1-4 engine. Fuel economy does not suffer at the cost of power.

Safety is an important feature of the Chevrolet Cobalt Coupe and OnStar ensures your safety during and after a collision. Frontal and side-impact airbags protect passengers from impact. Technology such as StabiliTrack and 4-wheel antilock brakes help you stay in control and on the road in hazardous situations. Automatic Crash response from OnStar has built-in sensors that connect an advisor to help you get emergency help to your exact GPS location.

With the maximum HP and torque in its segment the Chevy Cobalt Coupe has some amazing performance credentials. It has a top speed of 160 mph and clocks 0-60 mph in 5.7 seconds. It has a torque of 260HP that beats all others in the segment hands down. A dealer installed optional accessory called the Star Kit can increase the HP of the Cobalt SS to 280.

The Chevrolet Cobalt is equipped with an array of impressive features that are all covered in the cost. An MP3 capable stereo and XM Radio, 100,000 mile long-life spark plug and a 150,000-mile engine coolant along with hot features such as frontal and head curtain side impact air bags is topped with a 100,000 mile or 5-year transferable Powertrain Limited warranty.

The Chevrolet Cobalt sedan also comes equipped with the OnStar Safe & Sound Plan for the first year of service and has similar features as the Coupe. It clocks an impressive 37mpg on the highway and is available in four trims – Base, LS, 1LT and 2LT.
