The Golf Drive: A Fundamental Golf Skill For Golf Players To Learn

Golf, when given a quick glance by the average watcher - will see the game as simple as it gets. Many think that it only involves hitting the golf ball as nearest as possible to the hole on the  course. However, it is not as easy as said and done. Even expert golf players have to survive months and months of training just to even perfect they way they  hit the golf ball.

Just like other kinds of physical activity, Golf also needs the much needed practice in terms of how a person play the game . It can't be fulfilling if you  just yell "FORE!" and hack away and go par. Your golf caddy might sleep as you strike completely to the hole. Among the  basics one must grasp - and actually one of  the fundamentally vital - the golf drive.

The Golf Drive, as easy as it may look - isn't just all about looking good when hitting the ball. It's one of the main things concerned in connection  with the result of your shot. Listed below are  specific factors that a beginner can comply  with on so she/he can slowly grasp the golf  game.

The Correct Club: The trick isn't just on  the strength of the swing. No matter how strong the strike is, if the wrong club is used then it leads to other things. It can either lead to an air shot, a slice, or worse a pulled muscle. It's best to know the right club for  the job, then the strength of the shot comes next. When accustomed to the right golf club concerning how to use it, then try rearing a notch by making the strike stronger.

Keep an Eye on the Hole: The golf player should keep her/his eye on  the target. Not to the left or the right, but right on target. The  eyes needs to be parallel with the target. It greatly affects the direction of  the shot upon impact and thus a big help in getting the ball as close to the hole as possible.

Keeping the Elbow Attached to the Hip: Having the right arm kept close to  the hip makes sure that the body will make the arms driven  along with the golf club during impact. This will bend the  right arm, providing power with the position of the body.

Muscle should be Flexible and Grip must be Soft: Maintaining a soft but firm grip  makes one have a quicker release upon impact. Notice also that after swinging,  golfers don't put their arms right away?  This where "leaving the club at the top" comes in. Following your swing, leaving  the club at the top will make the limbs and trunk rotate  back before the upper part of the body. In that manner, you will not feel any strain.  It will also make sure that the swings will be effortless after lots of practice.

Shorter Backswings: Too much swinging will lead to  golfers to lose control. With the right wrist hinge and making the whole body to go on a full turn, it will  contribute to the consistency of the player's drive.
Hip Rotation: Distance and highe  clubhead speed are improved increasingly by aggressive hip rotation. Doing this will develop high torque in the body and will be heightened making the swings stronger  and for more distance.

The Spine Tilt: Tilting the spine - tilting it away from the target - allows  one to sweep up on the ball. Sweeping the ball up generates distance, and this is a  frequent concern for amateurs.  They seem to keep their bodies  straight or on a reverse spine, so the ball loses height and distance.

The Foot Anchor: Using one of the feet as the anchor will make one hit longer. The anchor foot is the foot the golfer swings away from and towards the ball. It also stops  the golfer from going early on the downswing which prevents the decrease of distance.

Hip and Shoulder Alignment: Making a drive solid depends on how the golfer will keep his/her backswing side as motionless as possible. This keeps the shoulders and hips on a level alignment at makes  a solid rotation of the body.

The Baseball Swing: Yes, Baseball also involves swinging as it does for Golf. Practice swinging on a waist-level and imagine as if the pitcher threw the ball on a lower level. Feel the the swing as if the club  hit the ball and whips thru impact. In that way, you can have an established level of speed and strength on the swing. That translates to  additional yards!

The Arms: It is a given fact that it's always the trunk that has been the target of golf swings, but don't forget the  arms. Keeping it fit and well-conditioned for the swing will make one's golf swings like  clockwork.

Lessening Spin: When off the drive, a spinning ball  will not cover the needed distance. Using a higher tee than normal, getting rid of downward action and remaining behind  the ball may prevent this from occurring.

Staying In Shape: Nothing is  better than being fit for any sport. Keeping the body in good condition will build more power, especially  in the drives and swings.

Playing golf isn't easy. It requires  control, and having a good drive will make sure  that one will be able to sink the hole. It requires a  great deal of practice. Bring out the Tiger Woods in you!
