A Review of the DeWalt DC825 Impact Driver

The DeWalt DC825 18v Heavy Duty Impact Driver with built-in LED Light is a very compact yet powerful tool that is excellent for driving screws in nearly every application.  This Impact Driver packs a maximum 1,330-inch pounds of torque that enables it to perform a wide range of fastening applications while having a top-speed of 2,700 rpm.  The DC825 is a replacement and an improvement to the DW056 Impact Driver, which only had 1,170-inch pounds of torque and a top-speed of 2,400 rpm.  The DC825 also features a bright-LED light beneath the chuck connector to illuminate your workspace as you are drilling or screwing which is helpful but is not essential for the operation of the tool.

The best part about the DC825 Impact Driver is that it can sink deck screws effortlessly without the tool twisting in your hand as a normal drill would.  Rather than fighting against the constant twisting and torque resistance that can cause a significant amount of arm fatigue over the course of a workday, the DC825 has a Heavy-duty impacting mechanism that directs the torque to fastener instead of the user.  The textured anti-slip comfort grip is contoured to fit either right or left-handers comfortably providing maximum comfort and control over the tool.

It is important to note that the Impact Driver may produce slightly more noise than a drill does with a clutch.  However, the noise is produced because the Heavy-duty impacting mechanism is directing the torque to the screw rather than your hand, which significantly decreases the end-user fatigue.

Overall, the DeWalt DC825 Impact Driver is an excellent tool that I would highly recommend for any professional or handy man.  Once you use this DeWalt Impact Driver, you will always prefer to use this tool to drive screws versus a drill.
