World Bench Record Statistics. Check Out These Amazing Bench Presses
To say what world bench record is may be harder than you think. There are many different organizations that monitor bench presses. Some of them do drug tests, others do not. Some people consider only raw bench press to truly measure the bench press strength. There are many different opinions and ways to measure bench press strength. Still, here are some of the most memorable records ever benched. Whether the way they were performed are in sync with your performance criteria is unsure. But each and every one of these benches are monumental in their own right for sure.
The biggest lift ever performed is 1050 lbs, credited to Ryan Kennelly and performed in 2007 in APA competition. This is a fully equipped bench press record, and not drug tested. But before you start complaining about those two facts, let me ask you - how close are you to this monumental world bench record?
When it comes to raw world bench record, the king has been crowned all the way back in 2005 in APF competition. It was the year when Scot Mendelson benched amazing 715 lbs! Imagine, lifting all that weight with no special equipment. Nothing, just a t-shirt and herculean bench press strength.
These two lifters hold the world bench record for absolute bench press weight lifted. But there are other lifters, who will never be able to reach this massive bench press, yet they still lift amazing weights most people just dream about.
How about Andrzej Stanaszek, who is a holder of world bench record for IPF with 391lbs lifted. Not too impressive? Think again! His body weight at the time of the record was only 111 lbs, making this lift an incredible 3.51 times of his body weight! And, to make this even more amazing, this was a raw bench press! Imagine benching 3.5 times your own body weight raw... And, Andrzej Stanaszek also holds a world bench record for equipped bench - 402.3lbs. An incredible 3.65 times his body weight. Can I hear "Go Andrzej!"?
So there you have it. 3 amazing men holding each holding an amazing and almost out-of-this-universe world bench record. Whether you are training to lift the max weight or the biggest relative weight, I hope these 3 men will provide enough inspiration to keep you going.
