Plumbing Tools and Equipments

Plumber uses a variety of tools and equipments for fixing of pipes and other materials. Some of the tools and their utilization are given below:

1.    Drain And Pipe Cleaning Tools:

A drain cleaner is equipment used by the plumbers to clear the clogged drains that have occurred in the sewer pipes and are blocking the wastage to pass through it. It can be further segmented into three categories.

i.    Chemical drain cleaners, plungers, handheld drain augers, air burst drain cleaners, and home remedy drain cleaners which are used when sink, toilet tub etc are blocked

ii.    Electric drain cleaners and sewer jetter is used when pipes or other materials require double plumbing fixture.

iii.    Enzymatic drain cleaners are used when taking
precautionary measures for future blocking of pipe
Drain pipes, Drain rod brushes, Drain rod plungers, Drain scrappers e.t.c are some of the tools that come under the category of Drain cleaners

2.    Hole saws:

Hole saw can be renamed as hole cutter. It is circular saw in shape which can cut very fine thin work pieces. It is mostly used in drill machines. The saw is a metallic cylinder mounted on an arbor wroth the cutting edge having saw teeth. It is used up to a few millimeters of cut, after which it is not needed as it bore deep into the hole and its sloping slots in the machine help prevent any dust from entering into the equipment. The kerfs of the cut is slightly larger than the rest of the hole saw as it prevents the saw from getting jammed in the thing to be drilled. They are available in variety of diameters ranging from 6-130mm. They are usually used for things like plastic, wood, soft plaster, metal, brick, concrete e.t.c.  There are two types of hole saws.

i.    Adjustable Hole Saws:

It consists of four things. The first one is metal blade-like strip; the second is flat disc, then couple of grooves on one side and lastly shanks on the other side. When the blades are snapped into different grooves on the disc, a wide variety of adjustable hole saws are formed which can be formed into different shapes and sizes.

ii.    Circular Cutters:

It is a type of hole saw which is created when one, two or three adjustable teeth on a platform with a pilot bit.

3.    Pipe Cutters:

Pipe cutter is the most important tool used by the plumbers in which the plumber cuts the pipe into different shapes and sizes. Along with a fine and a clean cut, it is more easy to use as compared to hack saws which work on a slower rate as compared to pipe cutters. It depends on the type of metal as well that how much time will the pipe required to be formed into a desirable shape.
