Manufacturing Process Of Fascia Boards

How are fascia boards manufactured? What are the components and materials used in the production? And what are the strategies of the manufacturing companies to meet the demands of their consumers? These boards that have been originated in its raw material will then undergo a manufacturing process with the end result of a finished product ready for installation. Being familiar of the manufacturing processed will help us learn and have a deeper understanding of this product type.

Conventional fascia boards as invented were more readily made and are formed of wood. The wood is then finished to dimensions set beforehand using techniques known to the manufacturer and is skilled in this area. Desirable dimensions such as 7mm, 9mm, 12mm, 16mm and 22mm thick are predetermined by the skilled manufacturer for they know that these measurements were demanded by the consumers and is commonly used because the dimensions in the construction of a house or the building itself is dependent on these available measurements and specifications of fascia boards. The wood used according to the invention was one of the carefully selected from woods that are ordinarily used in woodworking and building construction. Example of this desirable woods are pine, oak, cherry, maple, ash, walnut, chestnut, beech, cherry, mahogany, rosewood, hickory, wenge, lace wood, and butternut.

After fascia boards are finished and initially polished by milling or other desirable finishing methods, a primer is applied to the fascia board. The purpose of the primer is to aid the paint to stick adhesively when painted into the boards. Examples of primer were latex, epoxy, acrylic, urethane-rich, zinc, oil-based, and water-based. In coating primer, one or two coats can be applied depending on its effect onto the board. The manner of coating may depend on the technique known by the skilled art worker.  Techniques were rolling, spraying, dipping or brushing.

After the application of the primer to the fascia boards, the boards were then painted. Example of paints used were latex, acrylic, and oil based. The paint can be white or any color, but common fascia boards are white in color. Any technique in applying the paint that is known by the skilled worker can be applied. Techniques will include spraying, rolling, dipping or brushing. Painting and coating the primed fascia boards completes and finishes the manufacturing process. The boards are now ready for set up and installation.

Fascia boards, with the latest technology are indeed manufactured pre primed and pre painted. This will ease the consumers in installation of the boards without having the difficulty of priming and painting. This will therefore saves energy and is cost efficient as well. The role of the consumer is to verify what types of fascia boards are suitable to his needs and taste. He must consider the theme of the house or building for the fascia boards to be of perfect tandem.
